So there are the foods you definitely want to include in your diet, and then there are the foods that you want to avoid getting in your diet by all means.

These foods will slow your process of fat burning down, so it is important that you forget about them when cooking up meals.

    Fast Foods, Soft Drinks, Alcohol

While on a diet you should no longer be eating fast food. There are almost no healthy ingredients in fast food because they cook most of it in oil. There is also an ungodly amount of calories and sodium in what you are eating. If you want to lose weight, getting rid of fast food is a serious must. You can however, allow yourself to eat it a day per month as a reward.

There is absolutely nothing healthy about soft drinks. Drinking these will slow down your fat burning because they contain mostly sugar. They can also cause you to unwillingly become addicted to caffeine. Despite what you may think, diet sodas are not an acceptable replacement. They do not aid you when losing weight and should be replaced by ice cold water.

Alcoholic drinks are filled with unwanted calories. Just one shot has anywhere between 70-120 calories in it. If you drink 5 shots you could be gaining up to 600 calories. Alcohol may be fun, but it is something you should try to avoid while dieting, at least for a little while.

Margarine, Vegetable Oil, “Low Calorie” Salad Dressing

The main reason you should not include margarine in your diet is because it slows down your metabolism, as well as being a source of unhealthy fat. These two reasons alone should be enough for you to stay away from this terrible food for good.

Like margarine, vegetable oil will slow down metabolism and is an unhealthy source of fat. Overall, this is just one unhealthy food and while checking out some recipes I noticed this one included a lot. I could not believe these health “experts” had even thought about including this ingredient in their food. Trust me, you want to avoid this.

Just because the salad dressing has low calories does not mean it is healthy for you. In fact, these types of salad dressings are harmful to your health and will slow down your metabolism.

    Processed Proteins, High Sodium Seasonings

Processed proteins contain preservatives that will slow your metabolism down. Deli meats are a great example of this. If you stick to natural protein you will have no unhealthy problems.

Too much sodium is bad for your health because it will add unwanted pounds and lead to other health problems. The spices I have listed in Foods That Raise Metabolism will serve you well and keep your metabolism truckin’ on.

    Cream, Brown Sugar, White Flour

Coffee drinkers probably won’t be too pleased with dropping cream from their diet, but if you really need coffee you should drink it black, or with a small amount of milk. This food is too high in calories and fat, and will do the opposite of help you. This type of fat isn’t the good kind either; it’s saturated fat and you want to stay away from that. You are going to want to get low-fat dairy products in your diet and give this one the boot.

I have seen many “healthy” cookbooks use brown sugar ingredient in their food and it should definitely have not been in there. Brown sugar is just normal white sugar with molasses added to it. If you are going to eliminate anything from your diet, it should be this. Brown sugar promotes hunger and cravings, causing you to gain weight rather quickly.

White flour doesn’t have as many natural nutrients in it and will keep your insulin levels high promoting eating, thus promoting fat gain.

There are some days that you are allowed to go outside of these boundaries and eat other foods. For example, on someone’s birthday it is alright to have some cake. Make sure you are eating these foods in moderation or else you will have to make that up during your workouts.
