Hello? Are you OK? Exercise less, you say?
I’m pretty sure not many people have you to exercise less, am I right? But, here I am telling you to exercise less.
Many people actually exercise too much, but with not enough intensity. That’s why you need to exercise with short, intense workouts.
Increasing the intensity of your workouts is your key to extremely fast weight loss.
Don’t get me wrong; long, boring cardio workouts do work as fat burners, but why spend hours running on the treadmill when you can be done exercising for the day after 20 minutes?
The reason the long cardio exercises don’t work as well as high intensity training is because your body will eventually learn what you’re doing and start saving a reserve amount of fat for when you do those long exercises. Next time you exercise, your body will just burn this reserve fat, so in order to burn more fat, you will have to exercise more and more each time.
Switching from long cardio workouts to high intensity workouts is a far better idea as you will lose weight faster, as well as having extra time to do other more rewarding things.
Find out how you can shed weight quickly. You can work hard, or you can work long; your choice.
It’s next to impossible to do both, so working hard means you won’t be able to work long and vice-verse.
Intense training works so well because instead of burning calories from carbohydrates in your body fat, it burns them from muscles. On top of that, as soon as the workout is over your body will continue to burn body fat in order to fuel the growth and repair process. This burning of extra calories can last up to 48 hours after your workout is over.
Now, you can apply this technique to just aerobic workouts, but if you want to burn even more fat you can incorporate weight training into your workouts.
Why should you add weight training to your workout?
It’s simple. Weight training adds muscle mass to your body and muscle will burn calories even when you aren’t doing anything.
Just one pound of muscle needs around 50 calories per day to stay alive, meaning if you add just a few extra pounds of muscle to your body, you will be melting off even more fat.
By combining intense weight training with intense aerobic workouts your body will literally become a “fat burning furnace” burning fat 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.
Keep your workouts short.
The trick to high intensity training is to keep your workouts short and to the point with minimal rest. You should only be working out for 20-25 minutes per day and as you progress you need even less time.
To keep your workouts short simply cut the amount of weight you would normally use in half. Then focus on slowing the exercise down to about 5-10 seconds per repetition by slow lifting, pausing at the top, and slow lowering. Do this until you can no longer complete a rep.
In about 60 seconds of exercise your body should feel like jello, your heart racing, and your lungs dying to get air. Try it right now with a bodyweight Squat. You will notice an amazing difference in how your body feels.
By completing just a few 20 minute workouts per week your body will quickly begin to shed fat, build strong muscle, endurance, and strength. It’s almost magical to watch the fat melt off your body with this technique, but don’t forget to combine it with healthy eating.
