Let’s say you run a book blog, and your content is gathering the book recommendations from important, influential people and presenting it to your visitor. A person who wants to read what Barack Obama recommends will go to Google and do a quick search. Your article pops up and they click on it. You have a new user!
Content doesn’t have to be exclusively blog posts either.
It can be videos, images, podcasts, or even social media posts.
Sometimes you can create multiple pieces of content by creating different types of one piece of content. For example, if you make a how-to video for YouTube, you can use that same video to create a blog post. Or, transcribe your podcast and post it on your website.

Quality content can have many different definitions depending on where you look on the internet, but to us it can be summed up as entertaining, relevant, helpful, informative, or original content that resonates with its audience.
At least that is what we aim for when we create content.
It also means as little spelling mistakes or punctuation errors as possible (that you can help).
These little errors can unfortunately leave a bad impression on some visitors and prevent them from sharing your content, or worse, ever coming back to your website.
Why is quality important?
Quality content will help your SEO, meaning higher rankings in the search engine. Higher rankings means more searches, more traffic, and possibly more sales.
Content can help separate you from your competitors, which can mean more subscribers as you have something different, or better, to say.
This retention helps your blog grow and builds that authority.
Users are also more likely to share your quality content on social media, which is basically free advertising for you.
Not only will that help more people come to your website, but people will end up following you on social media as well.

Picking a good title for SEO
Making sure you have a good title for your content is important.
It’s the first thing that people will see in the search engines. The title is supposed to catch their attention and make them click into your website.
To pick the best title for SEO, keep the character length between 60 and 70 characters. Keep it relevant and detailed.
If you’re serious about ranking in the search engines, you are going to want to include a keyword or two in your post title. That way, when people search that keyword, your post pops up.

How often should you post new content?
How often you post content really depends on you and how often you want to post.
Some blogs post a lot and some blogs post only once in a while.
If you run a news, or celebrity blog, you probably have to post almost every day.
If you run a history or science blog, you can probably get away with posting once per month.
How often you post content doesn’t really matter as much as posting consistently does.
If you choose to start posting every other day, then you should keep that up.
But remember, quality is queen.
How long should blog posts be?
If you’re looking to get indexed by Google, your content should be at minimum 300 words
in length. Anything less than that will not be seen as quality content by Google.
However, Google has shown to favor posts that are at least 1,000 words
in length. These posts can be seen by Google as more quality.
A study that HubSpot did on their site, shows that the average words per post in their top 100 posts was between 2,100 and 2,400.
That doesn’t mean that you absolutely need to be shooting for 2,400 word blog posts. More isn’t always better.
If you can explain what you need to in 1,000 words, don’t try to stretch it to 2,000 words just to increase the length. Usually, that involves adding irrelevant fluff and can decrease the quality of the post.
Keep in mind, word count is just one factor of quality content.
